The latest sharpener from Horl. For those not confident using a whetstone, let us introduce the HORL 3 knife sharpener. The HORL 3 is not only easy to use; it requires no soaking and gets the perfect angle every time. This new model benefits from a new and improved diamond disc for faster grinding and a more uniformed grinding pattern. Both discs now feature a new innovative quick locking system which enables you to exchange grinding discs with a single turn. The magnetic angle support has up to 70% more grip meaning even the smallest of blades are held better.

The latest sharpener from Horl. For those not confident using a whetstone, let us introduce the HORL 3 knife sharpener. The HORL 3 sharpener is not only easy to use; it requires no soaking and gets the perfect angle every time. You can sharpen to 15 or 20 degree angles. The 15 degree side for Japanese knives and the 20 degree side for western knives. Each sharpener comes with a diamond grinding disc and a ceramic honing disc (with the Premium Sharpening Set also available as an extra which includes interchangeable #3000 and #6000 discs with a leather finishing strop). The HORL 3 comprises of two parts: a magnetic angle support bar and the roller which houses the discs. To use, the knife is placed upside down against the support bar and held in place by strong magnets, the disc roller is then rolled up and down the length of the blade. For smaller knives you will place the knife higher on the support bar so the sharp edge of the knife will always be touched by the roller. The roller and support bars come in both Walnut and Oak and are manufactured in-house by HORL in Germany’s Black Forest region. Care – keep both the sharpener and the angle support dry. You can clean the diamond grinding disc with an eraser to remove dust or for larger deposits, soak the surfaces in a hot water bath with dishwashing liquid and remove with a brush. The diamond steel disc will become less coarse after approximately 20 uses; this is intentional, and works as intended in subsequent uses

A lovely bit of Monday morning ASMR for you all!
The perfect Easter dessert but the big question is… Custard or Cream?! Answers in the comments pls!

This @jamieoliver Rhubarb Crumble is one of my all time favourite desserts (and I don’t normally like hot fruit! 🤣)

Serves 4

FILLING
400g rhubarb
1 vanilla pod or ½ teaspoon vanilla paste
75g golden caster sugar
2 teaspoons cornflour

CRUMBLE
100g cold unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
150g plain flour
50g golden caster sugar

Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF/gas 6. Grease an ovenproof dish with a little butter.

Combine all filling ingredients.

Tip the crumble mixture over the rhubarb without pressing down. Place on a baking tray to catch any drips, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.

Serve with hot vanilla custard or cold cream.
